Continuing CEPL’s Legacy – Exciting Leadership Transitions

February 12, 2025

The George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership at the College of Professional Studies (CPS) is proud to announce key leadership transitions that reflect our commitment to strategic growth, innovation, and deepening partnerships. As we celebrate Dr. Natalie K. Houghtby-Haddon’s transition into the role of Executive Director of the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (CEPL) following Jim Robinson’s remarkable tenure, we are also excited to introduce new leadership roles that will further strengthen our impact.

Dr. Ina Gjikondi has taken on an expanded role as Director, Learning Innovation & Strategic Growth at CEPL. In this capacity, she will leverage her expertise in whole-person leadership to drive strategic growth, foster innovation, and strengthen key partnerships, particularly leading CEPL’s portfolio with the District of Columbia Government. Her leadership will ensure that CEPL remains a trusted institution for developing top talent. Ina will continue to oversee key leadership programs, including the DC Executive Leadership Program (ELP), Certified Public Manager (CPM®) Program, e-Co Leadership Coaching, the Youth Development Professional Certification Program, and CEPL’s coaching services portfolio. She will also focus on expanding the One Humanity Lab, sharing insights through podcasts, conferences, and publications, and identifying strategies to enhance CEPL’s programs. We are excited for Ina to lead innovation and empower conscious leaders.

We are also pleased to announce that Kateryna Pyatybratova, MBA, has been appointed Director, Strategic Partnerships at CPS. Reporting directly to the Dean, Kateryna will lead efforts to develop and expand partnerships across public, private, and nonprofit sectors—both in the U.S. and internationally. She will play a key role in positioning CPS and CEPL as leaders in global leadership development, strengthening CEPL’s network, and enhancing stakeholder engagement. Additionally, she will continue to oversee the Cafritz Awards Program, ensuring it continues to recognize outstanding public service professionals in the DC government. Her strategic vision will support the broader growth of CPS and CEPL, expanding their reach and impact.

Additionally, Samantha Luna has transitioned into the role of Senior Accountant at CPS.  Her expertise in financial strategy and operational efficiency will continue to ensure CEPL remains strong, well-positioned for growth, and able to deliver high-quality leadership programs.  She will also support special CPS financial projects throughout the year.

We have opened recruitment for a new role at CEPL, Director of Administration.  This role will provide additional strategic, operational and administrative support for the Center, including grant writing, proposal development, and budget management.  This role will report directly to CEPL’s Executive Director, Dr. Houghtby-Haddon.

These leadership transitions reflect our commitment to innovation, growth, and partnership-driven impact. We look forward to the continued contributions of Ina, Kateryna, and Samantha as they step into these expanded roles, ensuring that CEPL and CPS remain at the forefront of leadership development.

Join us in congratulating Ina, Kateryna, and Samantha as they embark on this next chapter!
