Senior Leader Program

GW CEPL is Committed to Building a
21st-century
federal executive corps

Our Senior Leader Program (SLP) provides the opportunity for executives in high demand to invest in continuing professional development while balancing commitments already in place.  This program covers the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM's) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and meets the 80-hour interagency training requirement, focusing specifically on higher-level competencies.  The opportunity allows you to learn more about common and emerging leadership and management issues while developing strategies for effective change.

Ideal For

Federal government leaders at GS levels 14 and 15.

Learning Objectives

The program objectives and curricula are built around the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM's) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), allowing you to hone the skills, develop knowledge, and strengthen the personal qualities leaders need to excel in senior executive positions.

The program is offered in two formats: online and in-person.

"I was brought out of my comfort zone and stretched to think about where I see myself in the next 5-10 years as a future leader. The most helpful takeaways were the leadership lessons, learning about the different styles for leading teams."

"SLP prepared me for navigating the dynamics of changing leadership and being able to assist that leadership to be successful with management agendas. It also opened up my aperture to look at things differently in regard to leading change, strategic planning, interacting differently with other executives and staff – producing results that add value to the agency."
