Samantha V. Luna serves as the Senior Accountant at the George Washington University’s College of Professional Studies (CPS). In this role, she supports the financial operations of both CPS and the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (CEPL), ensuring the efficient management of financial processes, budget oversight, and internal controls. She plays a critical role in maintaining the fiscal health of CPS programs, providing strategic financial guidance, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Ms. Luna brings more than 12 years of experience in higher education and non-profit management, specializing in financial analysis, budget management, and accounting. Prior to joining GW, she held several administrative and academic advisory positions at the University of New Mexico, where she supported the administration and due diligence reviews of Title V Education Grants.
In addition to her financial expertise, Ms. Luna is a certified Her Circle Leadership Coach and has recently earned her e-Co Leadership Coaching certification from CEPL. She is deeply committed to helping individuals and organizations achieve financial wellness, with a particular focus on supporting efforts to end generational poverty through financial empowerment and education.
Ms. Luna graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and American Studies and later earned her Master’s of Accountancy from the George Washington University School of Business. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering and mentoring youth in underserved communities.
