Mastering Agile Organization Design for the Public Sector

This certification program trains professionals to construct high-performing, agile and responsive organizations. Course participants will learn how to anticipate and overcome changing landscapes and unforeseeable obstacles through innovation, collaboration and systems integration with continuous feedback loops.
 
Developed in collaboration with LBL Strategies, and certified by the GW Center for Excellence in Public Leadership, Mastering Agile Organizational Design for the Public Sector Certification gives government professionals the tools to make their organizations more agile, adaptive and responsive.

  • Volatile or uncertain external operating environments
  • Decline in project productivity and overall performance that consistently falls behind projections

Dr. Richard Thayer headshotDr. Richard Thayer is the managing director at Syngineering Solutions. Thayer has for years supported organization design efforts for the Royal Dutch Shell in its global activities. As an organization design practitioner, author, teacher, and advisor, Rich’s work focuses on agility and collaboration. He and his partners have written “Syngineering: Building Agility into Any Organization”, a step-by-step guide that helps practitioners at all experience levels introduce agility and responsiveness into their organization, scheduled to come out in Spring 2021 through John Hunt Publishing.

Jim Stockmal brings 30 + years of experience in designing and developing organizations across a wide spectrum of government clients including the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, Stafford County, Events DC, the Department of Energy, the U.S. Air Force, NASA, the General Services Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and NOAA. Jim writes monthly articles on organizational development, leadership, strategy, organizational transformation, and cyber security for the Strategic Edge publication of the Association for Strategic Planning, for which he is recent Past President.
